Watching the remaining six episodes of Stranger Things (2016) with Angela today. We divided and conquered our marathon snacks (me in Manhattan, Angela in Brooklyn).
READY FOR THE SUSPENSE.
Snack from Bibble & Sip, Hell’s Kitchen, NYC:
Not as potent as the matcha latte from Matcha Cafe Wabi, but still better than most matcha lattes I’ve had. The jasmine flavour was rather light and almost non-existent. I made the mistake of ordering their drinks iced last year, and it just tasted like milk. Don’t do it unless you’re sweating profusely and cannot handle even the thought of something warm.
Stranger Things (2016) Marathon Snacks:
Angela and I are awesome at Netflix and Chilleat. Master snackers.
All amazing choices, but the vegan cheesecake brownie takes the award. Fudgey, intensely chocolately and creamy. Would recommend to any chocolate liker (notice I didn’t say lover), regardless of if they’re vegan or not. The lentil puff was a bit on the spicy side and the cinnamon roll was above average. Solid pastry, but not something I’d rave about.
This is one of the more well-known vegan bakeries and used to be called Babycakes or something like that. Their chocolate cupcake (got the chocolate chocolate cupcake) was rather underwhelming. Decent, but not memorable, although this might have been because the other treats were better. The corn bread could have had a stronger corn flavour and I like mine with bits of corn in them, but this was really tasty and moist (most important!). Angela really liked this. BEST PART: the lemon loaf. Extremely moist and lemon-y, this was the best treat out of everything I bought. Highly, highly recommended.
Always a staple when I’m in NYC and craving cream puffs. I don’t like soggy, mushy things and this is the perfect combination between crunchy exterior and creamy interior.
